What is Kaoshi and how does it work?

Kaoshi is the one-stop shop for money transfer. At any given time, Kaoshi provides you with the cheapest/cost efficient options to transfer your money from one country to another. We aggregate remittance services offered by two kinds of financial services:
Money transfer companies like Western Union, World Remit, etc.
Banks in your home countries (also known as P2P swaps).
Since rates, fees, deals, and coupons of the above providers are compared in real time, we ensure guaranteed savings for you, the absolute best rates and best money transfer options each time. Your journey really does start and end here.

Who can use Kaoshi Network?

Any user in our established locations, 18 years of age and above.

What do I need to open a Kaoshi Account?

Opening an account is simple and can be done in minutes. All you need is an email address to open an account.

Is there an app?

Kaoshi is currently a web-based platform. Nonetheless, the website is optimized for mobile use.

Is Kaoshi a money transmitter?

No, Kaoshi does not remit funds. Kaoshi provides the aggregates by comparing the remittance services provided by various money transfer companies and banks in your home country.

Transfer
How long will it take for my beneficiary to get the money after I complete a transaction?

The duration for processing any single transaction depends on various factors such as the remittance service provider, the amount being sent, the payment method, and the delivery method. Our aggregation includes the duration of each remittance service.

At what cost will my transactions on Kaoshi be processed?

Kaoshi does not charge a fee for its service. However, each of the various money transfer companies and banks offering remittance services would charge an individual fee for their services.

What happens if my transaction fails?

If you have any troubles with a transfer, you can directly reach the remittance service provider offering the remittance service. Kaoshi has created a dedicated direct email communication channel between Kaoshi users and these remittance service providers. See the email icon found at the top-right corner of the menu bar.

Is there any limit to the number of transaction or amount I can transfer within a time period?

Restrictions on the amount allowed within a time period are set according to each remittance service provider.

Does my recipient also need to have a Kaoshi account?

No, your beneficiary does not need to have a Kaoshi account to receive funds.

How do I get in touch with Kaoshi if I need any assistance?

Can my recipient get the money in the same currency I send?

This option depends on the country you are sending money to. Local regulations in various receiver countries restrict whether your beneficiaries can receive remittance in the same currency as the senders. Nevertheless, Kaoshi’s remittance aggregation would inform you of this option if possible.

Can I cancel a transfer after making payments?

For services offered by banks in your home country (P2P swaps), these services are final and cannot be reversed. Treat them as cash remittance. However, for remittance from other providers, it could be possible to reverse such a transaction.

Can I transfer money on public holidays?

Kaoshi operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to enable you to remit money seamlessly. However, delivery times of the various remittance service providers could be impacted by public holidays.

Can payments be reversed?

Bank transfers made via the P2P swap feature cannot be reversed by Kaoshi. The reversal policy of the individual International Money Transfer Operators applies to instant payments made via these operators.

What is the Rate Alert feature?

The rate alert feature allows you to receive a notification when a remittance service provider offers a remittance service that meets or exceeds your desired strike exchange rate. We all want high exchange rate. The rate alert lets you set a threshold exchange rate, so you get a notification immediately when a remittance offers an exchange rate above or equal to your strike exchange rate.

Data Security
How do I know my that data is secured?

The security and privacy of our user’s data is of immense importance to us. We adopt bank level security measures in handling user’s data. Kaoshi supports the latest recommended secure cipher suites to encrypt all traffic in transit, including the use of TLS 1.2 protocols, AES256 encryption, and SHA2 signatures, whenever supported by the clients. Data at rest in Kaoshi is encrypted using FIPS 140-2 compliant encryption standards, which applies to all types of data at rest within Kaoshi’s systems—relational databases, file stores, database backups. Multi-factor authentication is available and highly recommended to users.

How do I block my account when I suspect unauthorized access?

I received an email from Kaoshi about my account, what should I do?

You may be concerned you may have received a phishing email from an account purporting to be the Kaoshi team. If this is the case, please contact us and we will assist you in that regard. To check the authenticity of this email, log into your Kaoshi account and see if you can find this same email under the email communication tab. All email communications will be made via this channel (top-right corner of the menu bar).

Who can access my data with Kaoshi?

The security of your data is of utmost importance to us. Most of the data you provide are securely stored and transmitted to the financial institutions providing the remittance services. These organizations are well regulated, and they guard your data in line with data privacy and security regulations. Read more about this in our Privacy Policy.

Service Providers
Do I need to be registered on the other service providers featured on Kaoshi to make a transfer?

Kaoshi’s web extension takes care of your account registration. Using the information provided to Kaoshi, the Sticky Note Web Extension autofills the registration form for the different money transfer companies, saving you the time and hassle of dealing with those monotonous forms. Moreover, for transfers by banks, you do not require any extra registration.

Would I have to create accounts and transfer my information and recipient’s information to each of these money transfer websites?

Once again, the Sticky Note Web Extension comes to the rescue. You do not have to transfer your recipient’s information each time you use a different money transfer company. Once a profile is created for your recipient on the Kaoshi platform, the Sticky Note Web Extension takes this data and autofills this information on the websites of the various money transfer companies, thereby saving you the time and hassle of dealing with monotonous form fills. We eliminate the barriers to shopping across various remittance providers, allowing you to always get the best remittance service at any given moment.

How safe is the information transmission between Kaoshi and these other service providers?

All information in transit between Kaoshi and the remittance service providers is securely encrypted. Moreover, the Sticky Note Web Extension locally decrypts the data auto-filled by the web extension on the remittance service provider’s forms, thus, averting a single point of failure or data breach. Kaoshi supports the latest recommended secure cipher suites to encrypt all traffic in transit, including the use of TLS 1.2 protocols, AES256 encryption, and SHA2 signatures, whenever supported by the clients.

Are the offers featured on Kaoshi the same as the ones on the other money transfer companies?

The fees and exchange rates on Kaoshi are the same as those on the websites of the remittance providers. However, we often feature coupons, promos, and discount that are unique and sponsored by Kaoshi.

P2P Swap
What is the P2P swap?

P2P swaps are a remittance service guaranteed by the banks in your home/destination country. Banks swap the outbound cross-border needs of their customers with your inbound remittance request, thus avoiding the need to send money across borders. You make payment for a bank to its customer’s beneficiary in your country, and, in exchange, the bank makes a payment to your beneficiary in the home country. No money crosses the border.

Why is P2P swap cheaper?

P2P swap is cheaper because it circumvents the need to send money across borders. Since money is locally swapped in each jurisdiction, the traditional expensive fees of cross-border transfer and currency conversion do not apply.

How secure is P2P Swap?

P2P swaps are offered by the highly regulated banks in your home countries. They are very secure.

Is the only payment method for P2P swap bank transfer? Can I use my debit/credit card for the P2P swap?

All P2P swaps can only be paid for by bank transfers.

Can I cancel a P2P swap offer after selecting it?

Canceling a P2P swap or failing to make payment for a P2P swap after you have selected it could result in an account suspension and fine.

Can I cancel a P2P swap after making payment?

No, all transactions are final. Consider P2P swaps cash payments. Once paid, the payment cannot be reversed.

Sticky Note Web Extension
What is the Sticky Note Web Extension?

Kaoshi’s Sticky Note Web Extension to the rescue! It is specifically designed to eliminate these barriers and allow you to switch across different remittance providers without hassle. By just clicking, you can autofill all the required fields on the different remittance sites, saving you time and effort, while ensuring that your details are accurately inputted.

I have the necessary information within my reach, do I still need the Sticky Note Web Extension?

Because with the Sticky Note Web Extension, you can complete your transaction five times faster than you would without using it. All the information you need for your remittance (personal details and recipient’s details) is collected once on the Kaoshi platform. After that, you never have to input or fill out this information on any site. The Sticky Note Web Extension securely grabs the necessary information from the Kaoshi database and autofills the forms of the remittance service websites on your behalf. All you need to do is just click away! No more filling forms.

Is the Sticky Note Web Extension available for all browsers?

Presently, it is available only for Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge (Chromium), Opera and any other Chromium based browser. We are working on expanding this list to include other browsers.

Where do I get the Sticky Note Web Extension?

Does the Sticky Note Web Extension work on all money transfer sites?

Currently, Sticky Note Web Extension works accurately on all the major remittance sites – TransferWise, WorldRemit, Remitly, Azimo, PingExpress, WesternUnion, MoneyGram, Boss Revolution, RIA, and Xoom. Will installing the Sticky Note Web Extension slow down my web browser?

With a size of approximately 3MB, the Sticky Note Web Extension is very light and has minimal impact on your web browser’s performance.

Can I copy the information on the clipboard Sticky Note Web Extension?

Yes, you can! In instances where a field is autofilled incorrectly, you can copy the information from the clipboard of the Sticky Note Web Extension and paste it into the pertinent field.

I want to toggle off the Sticky Note Web Extension. How do I go about it?

Right-click the web extension icon displayed on the toolbar. Then, select “Manage extensions” which takes you to a new settings tab. Click the toggle button to switch the web extension off.
